New tool provides help to people in redundancy situations
Community Legal Advice have launched a new advice tool on the CLA website.
The tool, called “What are my rights if I’m made redundant?” aims to offer advice to people who are facing redundancy or who have recently been made redundant.
People answer a series of questions about their circumstances in order to establish whether they were dismissed unfairly and whether their employer has followed the right procedures.
Redundancy payment
The tool helps people find out what redundancy payment they may be entitled to, and what they should do if they think their employer has not treated them fairly.
Depending on their answers, people are offered advice as to what to do next. They can ask for a call back from the CLA helpline, get help with writing a grievance letter, or use another tool to find out more about their rights.
This helps clients through a difficult situation by giving them advice that is right for their circumstances. It joins three other advice tools on the website,:
- What can my employer deduct from my wages?
- Magistrates court fines
- Debt management tool
The good news I that there are more tools in the pipeline for 2010
